Marty Jacobson
Marty Jacobson (M.A.) has 21 years of experience in migrant education and currently or has worked with state MEPs in Virginia, Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. He has facilitated CNA and SDP meetings, assisted states with data collection and analysis, and prepared CNA, SDP, and state MEP evaluation reports that were approved by OME. In addition, Marty is the lead evaluator for the GOSOSY MEP CIG. Past experience includes assisting states in the design and evaluation of MEP identification and recruitment (ID&R) plans, professional development plans, parent involvement plans, and plans for providing instructional supports. In addition, Marty frequently provides technical assistance to states in the implementation of accountability requirements. He leads evaluation teams to determine the extent to which sub-grantees implemented supplemental instructional and support services that address the unique needs of migratory children in alignment with the state CNAs and SDPs. Marty has designed data reporting forms, worked with states on their online systems for the collection and analysis of student data, conducted focus groups of staff and parents, and collaborated with states on procedures and materials for community decision made by CNA and SDP teams. Prior to his work with META, Marty served as the State MEP Special Projects Coordinator, ID&R Coordinator, and Staff Developer for the Rural Employment Opportunities Center in Montana.
